We purchase performing, non-performing, partial performing distressed debt at all placement levels. FDR also provides funding for small to medium size collection agencies and debt buyers who may want to purchase distressed debt but don't have the capital resources to acquire the debt themselves.

How we work a file

Every account placed with FDR begins with validation. Before any collection activity, we confirm the creditor of record, the balance composition and the last payment or activity date. Consumers receive written notice identifying the original creditor, the amount claimed and their right to request verification.

Compliance is not optional

Our representatives operate under the Collection and Debt Settlement Services Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. C.14 and its regulations, including restrictions on contact hours, contact frequency, third-party disclosure and misrepresentation. Calls are recorded and audited, and complaints are escalated to our compliance team for review.

Support for consumers in hardship

Illness, job loss and family breakdown affect repayment capacity. We assess income and essential expenses before proposing an arrangement, and we will document reduced payment schedules in writing so both sides know exactly what has been agreed.

If your situation calls for formal insolvency relief, we will say so and encourage you to speak with a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.
